Kathleen Svoboda

Favorite Quote: “Henry David Thoreau said: ” If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. ” At PND, we help our students build those foundations.

The longtime Drama club moderator for thirty-five years, Mrs. Svoboda has passed on her passion for theater and English to her students for many years. A native of Libertyville, IL, Mrs. Svoboda was inspired by some amazing high school teachers at Libertyville High School. She was actually the only girl in the wood shop class in high school and would encourage every woman to learn how to use power tools. At PND, Mrs. Svoboda loves working with the students because they always teach her something new; the faculty provides support and care for one another. She also grows in her faith through quiet reflection at the beginning and end of her day, asking God for guidance to help her become a better teacher and person.
