This course continues the study of Spanish language leading to attainment of intermediate level proficiency. Instruction includes a study of complex points of grammar and idiom, expanding vocabulary, readings from Spanish literature, instruction through the medium of the Spanish language, and a deeper study of Spanish and Latin American culture and historic personages. Students are expected to improve their fluency through conversational practice, role-playing directed response, and guided self-expression. Interaction of all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) is a key element of this level.

Prerequisites

A grade of B or higher in 480 Spanish II.
