Katy Krieg-O'Brien

Science Teacher

Favorite Quote: “A little bouncer slowly towards Bryant…he will glove it and throw to Rizzo…it’s on time! And the Chicago Cubs win the World Series!! The Cubs come pouring out of the dugout, jumping up and down like a bunch of delirious 10-year-olds. The Cubs have done it. The longest drought in the history of American sports is over and the celebration begins.” – Pat Hughes Game 7 Call, 11-2-2016

Biography

Mrs. Krieg-O’Brien cannot wait to fully immerse herself in faith and teaching at PND! Combining the two is very exciting, as these are very important parts of her life that make her who she is today. Mrs. Krieg-O’Brien loves all things medical and “gross” and is excited to share her experiences with students on the biomedical track! If she could do anything else, it would be in the nursing or medical field, or work for the Chicago Cubs! She loves getting to know students and their families and that they truly look to you for guidance, advice, and mentorship. Mrs. Krieg-O’Brien loves when she sees her students years later and they still remember a funny or memorable time in her class. Nothing makes her happier than seeing students outside of school and they want to chat with her! She said, “We all have ‘that teacher’ that we remember and I pray I am one of them.” You will notice that Mrs. Krieg-O’Brien is a HUGE Chicago fan, ESPECIALLY the Cubbies. (She even attended opening day for the Chicago Cubs this year!) Outside of school, she loves volleyball, the beach, the pool, golfing with her husband, and spending time with their two children- Nora and Wade.
