Students focused on the future

Students focused on the future are exploring what it takes to be successful after high school during our Winterim session. Mrs. Krieg-O’Brien’s Entrepreneurship class has visited several local PND-affiliated businesses including Illini Golf, Donnelly’s Irish Pub, Weaver’s, Brienzos, and Rambler apparel store to learn about how to build and maintain a small business.
Mrs. Hausauer’s AP Seminar class is working diligently in teams to identifying an issue or problem, write an individual 1200 word research report, and present an argument for solutions or conclusions. On Friday, the groups will provide an 8-10 minute presentation and oral defense.
In Mr. Rudolph’s Investing class, students are learning about personal budgeting and investing. Each student is expected to present a monthly budget and show how they would invest their earnings. At the end of the presentation, the future investors reveal how much money they hope to save by retirement.
And Mrs. Lindberg’s College and Career Prep class is learning about how to write a winning resume and cover letter as well as how to prepare for unique and complicated interview questions.
