Please welcome Kaiti Burgess, our new Art Teacher & Yearbook Moderator! Mrs. Burgess grew up in Peoria and originally thought she would go into journalism, but many twists and turns along the way led her to education. Teaching art is truly in her blood, as her mom is a teacher and her dad is an artist, and it is where she feels she is using her God-given gifts in a way that really matters.Art has always been a big part of her faith journey, and she is excited to now teach in a setting where she can openly connect faith and creativity while growing as both an artist and a Christian. She has taught in a variety of settings and brings a wide range of experiences into the classroom.
Outside of school, Mrs. Burgess is an artist and photographer and has worked professionally since 2007. Fun fact: she once photographed a wedding in Hawaii for a Tony Award winning actress! Her specialties include pottery, drawing, and graphic architectural watercolor paintings. She is also a certified yoga instructor, loves fitness, traveling, trying new things, and most of all spending time with her husband and little boy.
