New Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Taylor & Mrs. Swanson

New Staff Spotlight! 📣☘ Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Julie Taylor (pictured on the left) and Mrs. Beth Swanson (pictured on the right) to our Student Support Services Office!
✨ Mrs. Taylor is no stranger to PND! She is an alumna of AOL/Spalding and comes from a legacy family of alumni including her parents Nan (Hausam), AOL 1963 and Steve Powers, SI 1962; her grandmother Virginia Hobin, AOL 1936; her grandfather John Powers, SI 1917; and her great-aunt Anna Mae Powers, AOL 1916. Her husband Bret is also an alum (Class of 1985), and together, they have a wonderful family with 7 children (6 boys and 1 girl) who attended St. Mark’s and PND.
Mrs. Taylor LOVES helping others understand math and has been a tutor for over 40 years. She also finds it as such a blessing to be able to attend Mass and adoration during the day at PND, especially with so many students and staff attending as well! Mrs. Taylor has so enjoyed getting to know some of these beautiful students, and she hopes she can help in their journey as they discern what God wants them to do in their lives. Outside of school, Mrs. Taylor enjoys traveling, walking with family and friends, and gardening.
✨ With over 30 years of education experience, we are blessed to have Mrs. Swanson back in the building since her time as a student at Bergan High School and as Interim Director of Student Services last fall! Mrs. Swanson’s family has had 4 generations that graduated from Spalding, Academy of Our Lady, Bergan, or PND. Mrs. Swanson was inspired to enter education because she grew up with her cousin who had Down syndrome. Mrs. Swanson always loved visiting her cousin at school and interacting with her classmates. She knew she wanted to be a Special Education teacher. She loves starting her day with a prayer and being able to attend Mass with others here at PND. It is such a blessing to see all of the students and staff living out their faith daily. Outside of school, Mrs. Swanson enjoys working out, reading, watching her granddaughters, golfing, and spending time with her family.
