n Mr. Boeker’s American Literature class, our students are learning about classic literature.
The students are reading The Crucible, a play by Arthur Miller dramatizing and fictionalizing the Salem Witch Trials.
As one of our students put it, they were being tried as witches for doing “anything that was fun”.
Currently, the students are discussing the life of Samuel Parris, his daughter, Betty, and their slave, Tituba.
Mr. Boeker is using both the play itself and audiobooks to bring the characters to life and help our students get a deeper understanding of the play and the Salem Witch Trials.
