All School Mass

All School Mass at PND today was awesome! Not only were we blessed to have PND Alum Fr. Pat Wille join us, but also Fr. Daniel gave a riveting homily.
Fr. Daniel talked today about a woman he met on a pilgrimage last year. This woman had survived the Rwandan civil war back in the 1990’s.
He talked about how she was stuck in a bathroom no bigger than 3 feet by 4 feet with several other woman for 91 days to avoid being captured or killed. During the early portion of her captivity, she was filled with anger and rage at the people responsible for the war. As her captivity continued, she started to pray the Rosary 27 times every day. The anger and the rage was replaced with peace.
After her captivity, she learned that her mother and 2 of her brothers were killed during the occupation. She found out who was responsible for their deaths and where to find him. So she sought him out. Not to argue or berate him. BUT TO FORGIVE HIM. All of those days spent in captivity in a bathroom praying the rosary gave her the inner peace to forgive the man who killed members of her family.
Such a powerful message. Praying the rosary every day gave her the strength to forgive. This was an extra special message to hear on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
