This morning during Ash Wednesday Mass, Fr. McShane offered a powerful homily on reclaiming our “interior life” or the hidden part of us that only God sees. He encouraged and outlined methods to make God our foundation through prayer, almsgiving, and fasting. He mentioned that just as trees live a hidden life in winter, preparing to bloom in spring, Lent (coming from the Old English “lencten” that means spring season) calls us to detach from what weighs us down and make room for new growth.
After Mass, students took time for reflection and a guided meditation during Community Time. May this season be one of faith, reflection, and new beginnings.
