Throughout Lent, St. Anthony Parish in Bartonville hosts Stations of the Cross on Wednesdays followed by guest speakers connecting the station to Catholic social teaching. Last night, PND had the awesome opportunity to speak to the parishioners about our Winterim course: Catholic Social Teaching and CSP (Christian Service Program) Extension. Mr. Donnelly, Ms. Scott, and sophomore Jack Coulter highlighted the content and service projects in which the class participated.
Jack connected the 8th Station of the Cross (Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem) to the class’s service at Sophia’s Kitchen. When serving there one morning, Jack was in charge of handing out the food to people at the window and helping to provide comfort on an especially cold, wintery day. He mentioned how he really enjoyed being able to serve as a group and after seeing the need in the community, learning how to address it, and doing the hands-on work to help.
