Congratulations to St. Thomas 8th grader Drake Ziegler on being selected as the Randy Simmons Memorial Scholarship recipient for the 2024-2025 school year! Drake was selected among a host of other applicants to receive the scholarship to PND for 4 years. Drake is a successful student athlete who participates in basketball. He was presented the scholarship during the Knights of Columbus Basketball Tournament at Blessed Sacrament in Morton on Saturday.
Presenting the award was Randy Simmons’ widow, Patti. Also among those in attendance were PND Principal Jacqueline Kelly, Athletic Director David Rudolph, and Advancement Director Cindy Dermody.
8th grade boys basketball coach Tim Wyman said Drake is “exceedingly kind, eagerly giving of his time and considerable talents, hard-working, driven to attain high-levels of success, and always prone for a quick smile for everyone.”
