The course provides students with a working knowledge of the American legal system. Instruction includes the following topics: criminal and civil law, consumer law, family law, an overview of individual rights and liberties in American society today, and important cases brought before the Supreme Court and the effects the Court’s decisions have had on justice in the United States. Students are expected to complete individual and collaborative assignments/projects.
