AP Environmental is the equivalent of a college-level course. This course provides students with the scientific principles, concepts and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world. Environmental Science is interdisciplinary, embracing topics from geology, biology, environmental studies, environmental science, ecology, chemistry, and geography. Students will identify and analyze environmental problems, both natural and human-made, and evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems to determine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them. Laboratory investigations are an essential component of the course. This course is intended to help prepare students for the College Board’s AP Environmental Science Exam in May; questions, both multiple choice and free response from the AP central website are completed in class; and dimensional analysis and math without a calculator are reviewed and used.

Prerequisites

A grade of A- or higher in 325 Biology or a grade of C+ or higher in 330 Biology (H) and a grade of A- or higher in 350 Chemistry a grade of C+ or higher in 355 Chemistry (H).
