The course is an in-depth study of the structure and function of the human organism and is recommended for students interested in pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-nursing, physical therapy, and other health-related services. Instruction focuses on an overall survey of the human body covering cells, tissues, diseases, organs and systems. Students are responsible for using other sources, including the Internet, to supplement materials presented in the course and to complete individual assignments/projects, collaborative assignments/projects, and laboratory experiments. The labs include a variety of approaches from modeling mechanical principles to collecting and assessing vital signs. Dissections are valuable for learning anatomy, so the dissection of the feline and other appropriate organs are mandatory.

This course is a Project Lead the Way course but is open to all students.
