The course continues the study of the Latin language leading to attainment of advanced level proficiency and growing knowledge of Roman law, history, and government contributing to modern life. Instruction focuses on the rhetorical devices used by the great writers and applicable to modern communication. Students are expected to read from Caesar’s Gallic Wars, St. Jerome’s Vulgate edition of the Bible, the orations of Cicero and the letters of Pliny.

Prerequisites

A grade of B or higher in 460 Latin II.
