The course is a study of the major events and personalities that have shaped our nation since World War II. Major topic areas for the course include: the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, American involvement in the developing world, the growth of the American economy and the changes that have occurred in American society. Students are expected to be able to integrate America’s recent past and present and how it interrelates with today’s problems in their discussions and to complete individual and collaborative assignments/projects.
