The course studies the American economic system and its importance in the global community. Instruction includes: the American economic system and changing world economies, the role of profits and productivity in business firms, the role of the consumer, the economic institutions of labor, government and financial institutions, the economic stability of our economy, the costs and benefits of international trade, personal credit, banking, insurance and other practical living skills. Students are expected to apply economics concepts in various assignments and projects.
