The PND school community had a wonderful Homecoming Mass this morning and were happy to be joined by many alumni, 14 shadow visitors, and current parents/guardians.
Fr. Daniel gave a wonderful Homily (and wore his cool chasuble from the beatification of Blessed Sheen) on the Gospel of Luke 9:18-22. He outlined the difference between what the crowd says about Jesus versus who the apostles (and specifically Peter) say about Jesus. Fr. Daniel encouraged everyone to consider the content they consume and the conversations they have, and how that affects their own real relationship with Jesus. He also brought up how Blessed Fulton Sheen used his vocation and platform to give the real Gospel to “the crowd” of 30 million people watching every week!
After the Homily, Fr. Daniel commissioned and blessed our eucharistic ministers before entering into the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Mass was concelebrated by Monsignor Jeffrey Laible, one of our recognized alumni (AOL/SI Class of 1979). More information to come on Monsignor Laible and our other award winners in our next post!
