Born and raised in Colombia, South America, Mrs. Vidal earned her degree in Foreign Language Education, with a focus on English and French, from the University of Cauca. She moved to Peoria in 1996 and later earned her master’s degree from Illinois State University. She began her teaching career in Peoria Public Schools at Rolling Acres and, three years later, continued her work at Richwoods High School. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in World Languages.
Mrs. Vidal is passionate about curriculum and instruction, sharing her beloved Colombian culture, traditions, and language, and making a positive impact in her community. She believes that teaching is a journey where connections happen and new perspectives become real.
Outside of school, Mrs. Vidal loves spending time with her family and her dachshund, Benji, who keeps her company during much of her free time. She also believes that life with Benji and a good cup of Colombian coffee can turn an ordinary day into a wonderful experience. She is excited to bring her love of language, culture, and connection to the PND community.
