The entire Peoria Notre Dame community is saddened to learn of the passing of Pat Matarelli yesterday. Our beloved Mrs. Matarelli served as the cafeteria manager for 29 years and continued to be a welcome presence at the school even after her retirement in 2017. As many of our faculty, staff and families plan to attend her funeral services on Monday, PND has decided to cancel school for the day so all are able to attend. The funeral Mass will be at St. Phil’s at 10:30 am. The Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2-5 pm at Wright and Salmon Mortuary, and one hour prior to the funeral Mass at St. Phil’s. In an email to PND families, Principal Sister Sara Kowal said “We are deeply grateful for all her years of joyful and generous service, and she will be greatly missed.”
