Peoria Notre Dame hosted more than 90 cross country teams during the Richard Spring Invitational on Saturday. The meet was held at Detweiller Park where more than 2,700 runners competed from six states. Standout results for PND student athletes include Max Kirby with a 19th finish among 376 runners, and he broke the PND freshman record at Detweiller, running 3 miles in 15:55. Maya Zopel came in 31st and Shannon Zopel finished in 35th among 259 runners. The PND Fresh/Soph boys landed in 10th place among 41 teams. All in all, 38 out of 41 PND racers set a personal record or season-bests or both! Congratulations to all the competitors, and thank you Coach Dan Gray and all the volunteers who hosted another great invitational meet.
